Coast Director Paul Irish collaboratively researched and wrote an Aboriginal history overview of the New South Wales Golf Club with Dharawal/Dhurga man Ash Walker from the La Perouse Aboriginal community. It looked at how Aboriginal people have used the area of the course and its surrounds, on the northern headland of Gamay (Botany Bay) for many thousands of years. Importantly, it carries the story forward to the present through times of government ‘protection’, and the experiences of Aboriginal people working on the course and more recently as players.

Our office is located on the lands of the Gadigal in the inner Sydney suburb of Alexandria, who have sung and spoken this land for countless generations. We acknowledge the Gadigal and honour this tradition by working respectfully with Aboriginal people to share their histories.

Aboriginal people should be aware that this website may contain images or names of people who have died.
